The star has donated the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the trust for venues, which operates to preserve the United Kingdom's grassroots concert spaces.

The star was awarded the award on mid-October as his new release his work was chosen as the best record of the past year.

Fender has opted to give the cash to the MVT, in recognition of the crucial part local spots fulfilled in his early career.

"I personally couldn't be pursuing this success if it hadn't been for all the gigs I performed around the region, and further afield, when I was just getting going," remarked the artist. "These spaces are renowned, but they are struggling."

From early 2023 onward, more than 150 of these spaces have shut down – approximately 16 percent of the total UK scene.

Over the past year, well-known musicians including the band Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the MVT in its efforts to help venues survive, by applying a small levy to their ticket prices, which supports local stages.

He also participated, collecting in excess of £100,000 on his live tour to assist 38 small stages across Britain.

The donation supported venues that were dealing with possible closure due to issues stemming from flooding, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as regulatory hurdles, court cases and neighbor objections.

Additional spaces received monetary aid in upgrading amenities and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted musicians and audiences.

"The concept that money from shows in big venues supports the independent spots, where it begins for musicians like me, is just logical," Sam Fender has stated.

In recent years, Ezra Collective donated their funds to the youth organization that supported their act, in addition to other local music groups.

Additionally winners that year they contributed their winnings to a multiple sclerosis charity after a friend was diagnosed the illness.

"Winning was ample," said singer Heather Small. "The money was the cherry on top but we didn't require the cherry, because we had the honor. So our winning affected the lives of others."

In the past week, the trust revealed it had protected two grassroots venues in the South East, by placing them under local control.

The first in the city and the second in that location were bought under the community ownership program, which is funded by Arts Council England and music fans who acquire "stakes" in the venues.
